Growing kids
So a lot has happened in the last few days. Maia just cut another tooth! It's kind of funny because its not the upper front tooth that normally comes out second, its the tooth next to it... She's going to look like a vampire... Lily is finally making some progress with the potty training. Yesterday she wasn't wearing a diaper for a little while, and twice when she had to pee, she ran to the bathroom and said she had to go pee pee. So we are hoping that this will be the end of diapers for Lily, at least during the daytime.

Planes, Princesses & Dinosaurs. Grrrrr.
So this weekend Ulysses came over and he brought the plane we bought him so we could build it together. Unfortunately, Toy Story was on so Miguel ended building most of the plane himself with occasional help from Ulysses. To be honest with you, the plane was so difficult to build that even Miguel was having difficulty moving forward with it.
Here's the plane. Ready to get covered with Tissue Paper.
On Sunday we went to Balboa Park and Lily Penelope got to ride a big dinosaur. She was rocking out on it.
Here's Lily Penelope rocking out on the dino.
Here's Lily Penelope in her new princess dress (she's going through the princess phase).
Here's a little horse that Runi made for Lily Penelope.
That was pretty much our weekend. Other than Lily Penelope waking up at 1:00 in the morning and not going to sleep till 5:00, all is well at the Steen-Valenzuela household.

San Diego Rain
Hi everyone! I hope you have all had a great new years. It's been a while since I've posted on the viking since we've been getting adjusted to the time change and now, dealing with the rain! Yes it's raining here in San Diego and it's coming down hard. Three storms back to back and we're all safe and dry.
Maia Cordelia is now getting up on her own and standing. Here she is looking outside at the rain.
Maia Cordelia took the time to do some water colors and she's really enjoying it.
Maia Cordelia's eating Papa's glasses.
More pictures of Lily Penelope coming up soon.

Happy New Year everyone! We started the New Year off in Mjondalen Norway with fireworks and snow. This morning Lily Penelope woke up at 7 and we watched Bambi and then headed out to the snow where all the Norwegians were sleeping in. Not a soul in site. We played in a snow cave and froze our cheeks off. Well, happy New Year!

Well a 9 hour time change is rather brutal for the young ones and also the parents when the kids can't sleep in. I'll admit that Runi's a lot tougher than I am as she's handling it pretty well. Lily Penelope seems to think that it's day when it's actually night. The short amount of light doesn't help either.
Other than that we got the Christmas tree yesterday from Runi's friends farm and sat in a warm barn eating Norwegian pancakes and warm black currant juce.
Tomorrow we're headed to either a glass blowing studio or a film museum where they have the restored puppets of Ivo Caprino. The guy was a genious and made some outstanding films with movable puppets.
One of his movies was the inspiration for the Star Wars Race in Episode I, so I've heard.
